Rabbi Erica will be presenting Best Practices for Providing LGBT Affirming Residential Services. She will discuss that while older lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) adults confront the same issues everyone else does when choosing aging services, the reality of life in long-term care for LGBT people can be drastically different from their non-LGBT peers. Her session introduces the Long-term Care Equality Index for supporting LGBT Residents. During the session, attendees will hear from peers working in long-term care communities who are implementing LGBT affirming policies and practices, and review best practices developed by key industry stakeholders.
